Home › How it works

Set up once. Then it is three steps, forever.

The work in LotReel is front-loaded onto an admin and an inventory manager and takes about ten minutes to start. After that, the person on the floor does exactly one thing: type a stock number and copy a link.

One-time setup

Done by an admin and the inventory manager. Roughly ten minutes to get running.

  1. The admin creates the dealership account and sets up the store in LotReel.
  2. The admin syncs or uploads the vehicle inventory — prices, photos and specs. Every vehicle without a walkaround immediately gets a video auto-generated from its listing photos, so there is no empty library on day one.
  3. The inventory manager films quick walkarounds on the LotReel phone app as they work through the lot. Each one uploads instantly and replaces that vehicle's auto-generated video within minutes.
  4. The admin creates a login for each salesperson and sets the initial password. Salespeople cannot create their own accounts.
  5. Each salesperson logs in once, records or uploads their intro and outro, and sets their display name. They never have to do this again.

The daily workflow

This is the whole job on the floor, and it takes about five seconds.

  1. A customer texts or calls asking about a specific vehicle.
  2. The salesperson opens LotReel — on the site, or in the Chrome extension without leaving the tab they are already in — and types the stock number.
  3. LotReel assembles their intro, the vehicle walkaround and their outro into one personalized video and produces the link.
  4. They copy the ready-written message, which already contains their name, the store name and the link, and paste it into a text.
  5. The customer receives something like: "Hey it's Steven with Kramer Autoplex, here's a quick video of the 2022 F-150 you asked about." They tap it and it plays — no app, no login.
  6. The salesperson is notified the moment it is opened, including how much of it was watched, so they know exactly when the call is worth making.

What your team actually has to learn

Almost nothing, and that is deliberate. There is no video editor, no camera to operate on the floor, and no filming for the salesperson at any point after their one-time intro. If someone can send a text message, they can run LotReel.

It also does not need to be wired into your DMS or CRM before it will work. Inventory goes into LotReel keyed on the stock number, which every system already has, so whatever you run today is compatible. When a vehicle sells, the admin removes that stock number and its links stop working — no stale videos circulating for a car that is gone.

See it running on your own inventory.

We will build a real video from a vehicle on your lot and send you the link. No install, nothing to sign.
